Orbits’ Mya Hackett named as finalist for The Greater Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards 2021
We are delighted to announce that our marketing assistant Mya Hackett, who joined us last year as an apprentice, has been named as a finalist for The Greater Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards 2021.
To be held on 11 November at Edgbaston Stadium, the awards celebrate the best and brightest learners, training providers and employers who are helping them to succeed. Mya is one of three finalists shortlisted in the Apprentice of the Year – Tech, Digital and Creative Industries category.
Speaking about Mya’s nomination, Orbits IT Managing Director, Jim Lewington, says:
I nominated Mya because she is the epitome of a good apprentice. She asks questions, takes instructions well and seeks self-improvement. Mya has done all of this and more in a role that didn’t exist in Orbits prior to her appointment, during a year challenged by the pandemic. Mya has already developed in leaps and bounds, and I look forward to her continued career progression with us following the completion of her apprenticeship.
Mya, who is based in Orbits’ Halesowen office, Birmingham, said:
I worked with a company called Swift to help me find my apprenticeship with Orbits. It’s turned out to be a fantastic opportunity; I have been able to learn lots of new things that I have great interest in. All of this whilst working in a great environment with friendly and helpful colleagues. I feel very lucky and overjoyed to have been nominated for the award and becoming a finalist. This in itself is a huge achievement. I couldn’t be anymore thankful to Jim for nominating me.
Orbits IT currently works with two apprenticeship providers: Swift (Digital Marketing) and Baltic Apprenticeships (IT Support). Recruitment usually takes place once or twice a year. If you’re interested in future opportunities, please monitor our website and social media.
