Torfaen Community and Volunteer Awards 2021

Building on the success of previous Volunteer Awards hosted by TVA the Torfaen Community and Volunteer Awards have been strengthened with the support of key partners, Torfaen CBC and ABuHB, along with local businesses providing sponsorship to make the awards event a truly unforgettable celebration of the unsung heroes of Torfaen, who give their time selfishly to benefit their communities.

Preparations are well underway for the event, which is planned for the October 2nd, 2021, at Pontypool Active Living Centre.  With 10 categories, over 100 nominations were received and assessed by an independent panel of judges.  All finalists from each category have been invited and the winners will be revealed on the night.

Torfaen Voluntary Alliance’s Operational Executive Officer Aimi Morris said ‘for many years we have recognised the contributions of groups and individuals however following the last year and working more closely with our partners we shared a vision to highlight what is achieved through voluntary commitment, through the dedication of volunteers who do fabulous work in the community, volunteers ranging from 11 years to 82 years, really highlights that volunteering covering all generations, who do it because they just want to help, and not because they want anything in return, is exceptional.  This awards evening is our way of expressing our thanks by ensuring that it is a true celebration, and for this we thank the local businesses who, without hesitation, provided their sponsorship support as they too shared our vision”.
