3 reasons why you must URGENTLY upgrade Windows 7

The final countdown to the death of the Windows 7 operating system is on.

From the 14 January 2020, all extended Microsoft support will end for those who are still using it. There are less than 90 days to go, and the Christmas break in between.

Users who don’t upgrade will be left extremely vulnerable.

Here’s why:

1) Your business will become a massive target for hackers

Microsoft will no longer make any security updates to Windows 7. Cybercriminals won’t have to try too hard to access your network, systems and files. Your business will be easy pickings. Hackers look for easy targets for quick-wins. Those who continue to use Windows 7 will be just that.

2) Windows 7 could cost you thousands

If you think not upgrading will save some pennies, you couldn’t be more wrong. A cyberattack can lead to data loss, data breaches, operational downtime, disruption to customer services, reputational damage, substantial fines and so much more.

3) Your business will be left behind

Windows 10 has loads of cool security and productivity features that your competitors are already using. Some of our favourites include biometric technology for ultra secure and easy log ins, night light to reduce eye strain when working late, and the fabulously efficient syncing between devices.

Other software will also be affected

It’s not just Windows 7 that Microsoft is killing off. You’ll also need to upgrade if you use:

  • Office 2010
  • Exchange 2010
  • Small Business Server 2011
  • Windows Server 2008
