Employee Ownership – Two Months On
It’s been two months since Orbits IT officially became an employee-owned business, and what a few months it’s been!
We want to take a moment to thank everyone who’s supported us during this transition. Becoming employee-owned is a big milestone for any company, but at Orbits IT, we’ve always believed in putting people first, so in many ways, it felt like a natural next step.
Still the Same Orbits You Know and Trust
If you’re one of our clients, you may be wondering what’s changed.
The short answer? Operationally, absolutely nothing.

Same service.
Our engineers, support team, and leadership are all still here, continuing to deliver the high-quality, friendly IT support you know us for. Your points of contact haven’t changed, and we remain committed to the same high standards that have earned your trust over the years.
In fact, the response from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive. We’ve had so many messages of congratulations, encouragement, and genuine enthusiasm for our move to employee ownership – it’s been humbling and energising in equal measure.
New Trustees
Behind the scenes, one exciting development has been the formation of our very first Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) Board of Trustees, which recently held its inaugural meeting.
The Trustees will play an important role in ensuring the business continues to be run in the long-term interests of all employees. Their first session was used to put a roadmap and plan in place, allocate roles and responsibilities and generally find their feet. We thank the trustees for stepping up and look forward to adding to the trustee roster in due course.
New Ideas
One of the many benefits of being employee-owned is that everyone is free to bring ideas and suggestions to the table. The team at Orbits IT haven’t been backwards in coming forward here!
Among the ideas:

A fish tank to brighten up the office, we compromised with a very cool jellyfish display tank.

A proposal for arcade machines (still in review, but watch this space 🎮).

Better inter-office communication tools to keep our multiple locations even more connected.
This is what employee ownership is all about, giving our people a real voice and empowering them to help make Orbits IT an even better place to work.
What’s Next?
We’ve made a great start, and we’re excited about where the next months and years will take us. As always, our focus remains on delivering excellent service to our clients, while building a company where every team member feels valued, heard, and part of something bigger.
