Meet Dan, a member of the first line support team.

Proactive and helpful, Dan is a great member of the Orbits IT helpdesk team, providing clients with friendly and knowledgeable IT support. Supporting clients with any issues big or small Dan is certainly prepared to take on the challenge. He is always ready to take on a project and collaborate with other members of the helpdesk team to get the best possible outcome.

Dan always supports the team anyway he can and is always willing to help when needed. He is sharp when receiving tickets so that they can be resolved for clients as soon as possible so that they can work smoothly without any further hiccups along the way.

What is your process of problem solving?

There are a few steps I go through to solve a client’s issue: gathering all of the details, investigating the issue further and then, if needed receiving the advice and knowledge off other members of the team to fix more, complex issues which I may not have come across before. If I do receive advice and support on tickets, I will always make sure I know how the issue is resolved in detail so I could tackle this more efficiently if it happened again.

What is your biggest motivation to do this job?

The best part about working at Orbits IT is communicating and working with a great team and clients. Solving issues for our positive and polite clients really brings a smile to my face and with a brilliant team to work with it not only motivates me do this job but allows me to thoroughly enjoy it too.

Why do you think creating a relationship with our clients important?

Having a positive relationship with clients gives them the opportunity to be able to back to us with any further or new issues without any hesitation. The team is happy to assist if any other issues arise. We always make sure to be reassuring, friendly and helpful with our clients.

How long have you been working at Orbits IT and how has it changed over time?

I have been working at Orbits for over a year now and since I have been here it has certainly become busier, especially since the first lockdown due to COVID-19 as many of our clients began working remotely which meant lots of VPN set ups. This has meant becoming even sharper with tickets to make sure every one of our clients have been supported with their remote working setups.

Dan is a key member to our first line support team, having joined Orbits just before the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic Dan had to quickly adjust to working from home having only been with us a number of months. It’s great to see how much Dan has developed over the short period of time he has been with Orbits, he has a great relationship with our clients and his colleagues and I look forward to seeing him progress further over the next few years.
