BT plan to double UK broadband speeds by the end of 2015
BT has announced the details of their plan to provide 2/3 of the entire United Kingdom with fibre optic broadband by the end of 2015.
The 2.5 billion pound project promises to supply speeds of up to 80Mbps to the majority of British homes whilst a small fraction will be able to receive up to 300Mbps – If you live close enough to one the new exchanges!
With 6 new exchanges being enabled in Ashford, Milton Keynes, North London, Chester, Cornwall and York – some of you may be able to enjoy the exhilarating broadband speeds as soon as next month.
BT claim that the new exchanges will allow broadband users up to 110Mbps download speeds which will increase to a maximum of 300Mbps by Spring 2012.
