Have you forgotten your cable for your Android device? Try AirDroid!
If you have ever been in a situation where you need to transfer files from your Android device to PC or vies versa then AirDroid is the application for you. A couple of days ago I stumbled across this app in the play store. With 10,000,000 – 50,000,000 installs I thought I would take a look.
As stated in the Play Store description; “AirDroid allows you to access and manage your Android phone or tablet from Windows, Mac or the web, wirelessly, for free.”
The app can be downloaded from the following link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid
You can now say goodbye to cables!
Once the app is downloaded you have two choice. You can simply enter the IP address and port number in your Web browser that will be displayed within the AirDroid app or download the AirDroid software from their website: http://www.airdroid.com/en/
If you choose to use the URL method you will need to accept the request on your device to gain access via the web. A notification will pop up on your device one the IP address and port number has been entered. From here you can receive and sent texts, phone calls and emails. Drag and drop files to and from the device and your pc.
If you decide to install the software you will need to create an account and log in on both your PC and the app. You will then have the same capability of the web access but with additional features such as notifications will be displayed on your screen. If you receive emails or text for example a notification will appear on your screen similar to the app notifications you get with Windows 8 or Windows 10.
Since installing this application has become one I couldn’t live without, especially on the occasions where I have forgotten my cable.
