Introduction – James Bevan

Hello Everyone!

I have just started my first day here at Orbits IT as an IT apprentice and it has been a great first day. As I am joining the team I thought it would be good to introduce myself to everyone, so here goes nothing!

I come from a customer service background previously working for BT / EE in their technical support teams helping customers with Broadband, Mobile, Landline issues. I worked my way up to a team leader and spent over a year supporting my team(s). I have also served in some fin tech and insurance companies. Academically I have a medical background as a nurse for which I trained and worked for the NHS for 4 years most of which was during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Working for Orbits IT truly is my dream job. I have always wanted to work in some form of IT role. I hold a huge amount of fascination and interest within the technology sector so much so that I took it upon myself to learn over 5 coding languages and multiple software and server based programs. This helped me hugely when I started creating, developing and leading game servers for communities to play in across multiple online games such as Garry’s Mod, Grand Theft Auto:V and most recently I have started on Red Dead Redemption: 2. Most of which require a lot of Lua scripting, CSS, Python & SQL.

My current goal is to take this apprenticeship and give it all the time and effort I have to give in order achieve the most I can. I aim to complete this apprenticeship and my COMPTIA A+ within the next 18 months all while providing Orbits IT  the best I have to offer.
