Meet James, First Line Support member and an employee of the year

James is always willing to go the extra mile for the team and clients. He checks in with clients when working with them to make sure that issues are solved completely and to the highest standard. If issues arise in the future he is always prepared to give that extra bit of support. James works well as part of the team and is always very hands on.

It isn’t just a case of taking calls and solving issues. James works quickly and efficiently and is always prepared to take on any kind of task, varying day by day.

James is also a well deserved winner of employee of the year here at Orbits IT, along with Anthony, who was in last months post.

What do you think makes Orbits IT unique?

Our great customer service is something that stands out and is shown in much of the feedback we receive. All of us at Orbits would go the extra mile for any clients to make sure they are happy with the support they receive from us.

What is your favourite part of the job?

I enjoy all aspects of my job. However, communicating with clients and the rest of the team is my favourite part. Whenever the phones ring I am always eager to pick up, as talking to our clients really makes my day. The good feedback we receive from clients gives everyone here that extra bit of a boost for the entire week too!

What is the most common kind of issue that you receive?

Normally, I would say that password resets are the most common issue, however, due to Covid-19 as more people are working from home, many of the tickets this year have been to do with VPN issues. With working from home many clients have needed remote connection to their offices, but we have been happy and able to help with that.

What does an average week look like for you?

The beginning of the week is always busy as many clients who notice issues call when they get into their offices after the first thing after the weekend. We are always busy but I wouldn’t want it any other way! Throughout the week I like check in with members of the team to see if they need any help with tickets as I always prefer to keep busy.

Service Desk Team Leader, Hollie Xerri, says this about James…

James has done nothing but impress since joining Orbits IT in June 2019 and has been a great asset to the team. He does well with communicating with the team, is friendly and helpful with all clients and loves to keep everybody happy. Nothing is too big of a challenge for James as he enjoys to get stuck in. He always looks to keep moving forward and step up when needs be. It’s been great to see James get to where he is now and I hope he continues to excel within the company.
