Barry-based Orbits IT is helping St Cuthberts RC Primary School in Cardiff Bay to create what the school has named as a positive pathway.

The pathway will comprise of 140 pebbles, one for every pupil in the school, purchased by Orbits from Wenvoe’s Pughs Garden Centre.

Headteacher Bernadette Brooks explains: “As a school we decided we’d like to develop part of our outside area to enhance the well-being of our pupils and commemorate coming through the recent pandemic over the summer months. Our Nurture Teacher, Sally Bengough, thought of an idea for each child to paint a pebble to create a positive pathway.

“It’s important for us as a school to recognise that pupils have lived through a significant event in time. Some have suffered illness, family trauma and even the death of loved ones. We wanted to create a constant memory of this time, a quiet place where the pupils can sit and reflect, while also showing that good things will happen in the future.

“Our positive pebble path will achieve this and has been made possible by the generosity of Orbits IT. The donation means every pupil has their own pebble to paint. Orbits has given our pupils the opportunity to create a long lasting memory and we are truly grateful and appreciative of their generosity.”

Orbits IT Managing Director, Jim Lewington, says: “We are really happy that we can support a local school and give back to the community. We know how much the children will benefit from this positive pathway, especially with the tough times that we have all been through and have ahead. We’re very grateful for the opportunity to be involved and are looking forward to seeing the finished project in due course.”
