Cybersecurity is always at the top of our priority list. There’s a constant stream of something new to learn, and businesses across South Wales and the West Midlands who have got it wrong to rescue.

32% of businesses report falling victim to a cyberattack within the last 12 months. And while 53% of UK businesses have increased their cybersecurity since Brexit, British businesses still have the smallest cybersecurity budget compared to any other country.

Even if you don’t have a big cybersecurity budget, these 5 quick cybersecurity wins will help keep your valuable systems and data secure:

  1. Change your passwords, ideally using a random password generator. And have a different password for each service and application
  2. Use a password manager to make point one above blissfully easy for all of your staff
  3. Systematically delete all unused accounts. And remove users as they leave the business
  4. Check your software licenses to ensure they’re up to date. Out of date software is dramatically more likely to be a security weak point
  5. Organise staff cybersecurity awareness training. The more aware staff are of how it only takes one click; the less likely they are to be the one who makes a disastrous click on a malicious link
