More than £1,600 raised for Bliss following Cardiff half marathon
In a truly team effort, we are proud to have raised more than £1,600 for Bliss, a charity that supports families with premature and sick babies, by running the Cardiff half marathon.
Our runners included: Managing Director, Jim Lewington; Operations Director, Dean Bengough; Technician, Ross Bengough; Field Engineer, Toby Pomeroy; and First Line Support, Hollie Xerri. We were joined by Hollie’s partner, Nat Hardy, and Liam Payne. Liam is Dean’s friend; his daughter was born at 30 weeks weighing just 1lb 12oz in 2015.
Bliss supported Millie and her family during the eight weeks of care she received from the intensive care unit at the University Hospital of Wales and the special care unit at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. Millie is now happy and healthy, thanks to the support of the Neonatal Unit and Bliss.
Speaking about the half marathon, Dean commented: “We set a target to raise £1,000 and are thrilled to have smashed that. We had a fantastic, albeit challenging, day and were supported by our other team members, including Helpdesk Manager Daniel Davies and our First Line Supports, Anthony Hill and Omair Majeed.
Dean added: “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has kindly supported and sponsored us.”
