Flash on android?

Frustrated at not being able to access websites that require flash on android?

I have recently seen comments or posts on the internet with people complaining they cannot access websites or watch videos on their android devices due to flash no longer being supported. If you are running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich or lower then flash should still be able to work. If you cannot find the app within the Google Play Store you can find the APK file here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

However if you are running Android Jelly Bean 4.1 or higher then there is multiple ways of running websites that require flash. There are a couple of Flash browsers in the Google Play Store you can download for example;

Puffin Web Browser

Simply install the free version to test and if you’re happy why not support the developer? If you don’t get along with either of the browsers above you can also use Firefox. YES FIREFOX!!

There’s a few things you need to do. First download Firefox app on your Android device.

Secondly head over to the Adobe website and download the latest flash player for Android

Once downloaded you will need to go to Setting and find Security. In Security you want to tick ‘Unknown sources’. This allows you to install non Google Play Store apps. **You can always undo this after you finished installing Flash Player APK file**

Locate the APK file you have just downloaded. If it’s not in your task bar when you swipe down then open up your ‘My Files’ App or if you use any other file app like I do such as Es File explorer open the app and locate the downloads folder on the device storage.

Within the folder you should see an application called install_flash_player.apk and click to install. Once installed you should have a ‘Flash Player Settings’ app. Now you want to open Firefox app and go to a website that requires flash for example the desktop version of YouTube website. Once you click on a video you will be prompted with a ‘Tap here to activate plugin’.

Congratulations you are now able to run flash on your Android Device using Firefox.
