Raspberry Pi released but the world and his dog wants one!
As was widely expected over the last few days, the announcement from the Raspberry Pi Foundation at the 6am press conference was the immediate release of the first batch of Raspberry Pi Model A boards. Needless to say we were hovering with our debit cards in hand but have so far been unable to purchase one due to demand. Disappointing for us, but good for the foundation.
We wish the Raspberry Pi foundation the best of luck with the project, we expect the first batch of 10,000 to sell out very quickly.
The Raspberry Pi Foundation has manufacturer partnerships with RS Components and Premier Farnell, both are British companies which will be manufacturing and distributing the Raspberry Pi.
You can view the official announcement here!
Please be aware that you may have trouble viewing the website at first due to the large amount of traffic.
Best of luck to all those who are trying to get their hands on one. Why not visit our fan site for the Raspberry Pi and read up on what you can expect.
*Update 30/05/2012* We received an email from one of RS’s partners asking if we would be happy to link to their Raspberry Pi landing page. Of course we are happy to help you guys get your hands on a RPi so if you are looking to purchase try The RS Raspberry Pi pages.
